Show Blog
This is where I'll be posting the audition process, Rehearsal schedule, character analysis, makeup and costume, and anything related to the show I'm doing start to finish. It will help those who just watch them to understand the work it takes to bring the show to that point!

Marriage of Figaro,WFCO and Dove #raiseyourarms Challenge
Hey everyone....
Lots to update you on!
First of all the current performance schedule as it stands now.
Feb 12- Playing Bolero at UUMC for a Valentine dinner
Feb 15- Singing for the WFAA Charity event at UUMC
March 1- Playing for a private party
March 7,8- Marriage of Figaro at MSU
April 27- BACA Charity event
May 20- Spring WFCO concert
Then a break over summer for the annual VACAY! Woohoo
Last night we all got a treat here in Wichita Falls.... Pentatonix started their Tour right here at MSU. It was the first concert I was able to take my daughter's to which was fun! I actually spoke with Kevin for a while when he was wandering around.. Really super nice guy and I enjoyed our short chat! Concert was stellar... those guys are awesome so if you get the chance and are around one of their venues they are a MUST SEE!
Now onto my new Influenster VOXBOX! Dove has sent me Dove Advanced Care Deodorant with Nutrium Moisture so I can Raise my arms and have soft, dry skin! (#raiseyourarms!!!!). This was sent to me for testing purposes by Influenster so everything I mention via social media and blogs is my honest opinion on how the product works for me specifically!
I started the challenge today! Shaved my underarms this morning and used the deodorant... Smells really nice (Not too strong and not something that I would be embarrassed for someone to smell on me). I'm 2 hours into my workday and so far great!!!
I'll keep you posted on progress as I happily take the challenge!
See you all soon!

Two Performances Tonight...Performers dream? #JollyVoxBox from Influenster
After a long hiatus I'M BACK!!!!
Been busier than ever. I have to performances and the #JollyVoxBox to tell you about in my blog... They go together because two of the products I used to get ready for tonight!
First a very important disclaimer: The items I received were complimentary items for testing purposes by Influenster.
I'll go over all the neat items in my Vox Box first then tell you all about my performance schedule for the rest of the year and next year.
First the #JollyVoxBox
I tried the NYC New York Color HD Color Trio Eye Shadow in Long Beach Sands.
http://instagram.com/p/iBjXvWmbi1/
The top picture is just bare face with small amount of foundation and powder.Second picture is with one eye done (My left eye). Big picture is with both eyes done with eye liner and mascara. I like the colors because they are neutral and match my skin tone well. Pigment isn't as good as I'd like so I had to use a lot of product to get the desired results. My biggest beef with the product is the applicator. It is WAY too small. It makes it hard to apply the color to the applicator and then harder to apply it to your eyes.
My solution for the applicator issue... Turn the orientation of the shadows and add a longer applicator. You will make a lot of women VERY happy!
Second product I tried? Rimmel London NEW Show Off Lip Laquer in Celestial. I like this product... Goes on smooth and very easy to use.. The brush is AWESOME. I don't know who came up with it but pat them on the back... really easy to apply because the brush is angled instead of round. Color wise... usually pale colors like this aren't my thing (Sopranos like their reds ya know) but it looked good... went on well... and I was very happy with the product.
http://instagram.com/p/iBjyIvGbjT/
Suggestions? 14 shades is kinda low.. More colors please!
On to the other products:
Puffs Ultra Soft & Strong to go Tissue Pack(Mine was PLUS Lotion). Nice strong tissue as advertised. No Nose burn because it is a soft tissue and the lotion makes it kind to winter burned faces! The To Go packaging is easy to use and I like the fact that the opening is at the top and not through the middle (Which never stayed shut for me ever). Perfect!
Ducklings Mini Rolls- I received the floral roll with white and blue. My kids love doing projects with this and these are perfect size to be an accent color to a larger roll when making Wallets and things. Super great Christmas gift for your young crafter!
Last but certainly NOT least...
Skinny Cow Candy by Nestle. These are AMAZING. They taste great and guess what? 3 pieces (1 Pouch) is just 130 Calaories.. so Great taste and they don't hurt your diet. So like the package says "Di-licious, Di-lightful, and Di-MINE"
Onto the perforamnces:
Tonight!
At 6 PM I'll be singing with a group called "Intermezzo" at the Fantasy of Lights
7 PM I'll be playing Tuba with the Wichita Falls Community Orchestra.
January 4th I'll be singing in the Inaugural Andrew Raymond Duncan Memorial Scholarship Benefit. A VERY worthy performance that will eventually benefit future performers and keep alive the memory of a very talented young man that was taken from us way too soon. https://www.facebook.com/events/618643214841593/?ref=22 go here for more information and to say YES, I'll support the arts!
February 15th I'll be performing in an event for the Wichita Falls Arts Association Charity event. Valentine themed
March 7 & 8- I'll be playing the Countess in "Marriage of Figaro" at MSU... more information coming soon.
April? Spring WFCO Concert
Summer 2014 The WFCO will be playing for the WF Tea Party. Date still pending
I'll update as I know more!

Friday was EPIC!
Ok so this isn't about MY performances for once... I'll give the attention to some really awesome guys.
So... I entered this contest at a local venue here in Wichita Falls. I remember saying to myself.. WHY? I'm not going to win.... Well I did.
So I won the opportunity to hang with six bands and see how they run things in a more portable setting (Which I'm not used to in live Music Theatre).
So, The bands were all great but I want to talk about them as people because I got to know that aspect of their lives a bit better while I was there.(Being around so many power houses it was real hard sticking to the fact that we're all musicians... I wanted to fangirl SO bad... but that's not who I am.)
Papa Roach? All really super guys. Jacoby is very nice and I felt like a dork in front of him every freakin time he came around. But anyway... I really enjoyed cutting up with all of them. They were just nice which I greatly appreciated. Not to mention the energy during their performance was SO thick it was almost suffocating. LOVE those performance times when you can FEEL the energy... It's intoxicating. I live for shows like that.... I want to FEEL the energy and feel the songs... and with him, he spills his soul on stage and for those listening to more than the beat... it definitely "reads"... For the record... Jacoby was like a ghost (Or I just have tunnel vision, which I think is more the case with me)..I'd turn and there he was... SO quiet I didn't even notice him... so much that I was messing around singing a song during Stone Sour's set and he was there listening. Being a stinking blonde it didn't click that he had been standing there until the next day and then I freaked. I'm a pretty level headed chic so that just made my stomach and my heart jump. (I'm so self conscience about myself that I was almost embarrassed that he was there). I guess it's because I'm a singer that sings with everything I have so I feel exposed when someone hears me that I didn't intend to hear me in the first place. It's a quirk I accept.
Stone Sour? I spent most of my time talking to Johny and Roy (Bass and drummer). Both really nice guys. I really enjoyed talking to both and OMG beasts on their instruments. I spent my time watching them more than Corey, who obviously wanted NO ONE to bother him.... so I didn't. Too bad for him.. I'm a sweet chic... But yeah... and it was awesome that Johny had a bass with lighted frets.. while they were getting it ready for them I was looking at their gear. The pink guitar with polka dots was pretty fab too... A lot of ibenez out there.. I'm a Fender girl myself.
Otherwise? is a band I wasn't familiar with before Friday. Spent a lot of time with V their bass player. Young guy.. VERY sweet and smart. I noticed he was different. Couldn't quite pin my finger on it.. but he was cool just the same.V was awesome and I enjoyed watching them play. Definitely think they are going to be one to watch. Lots of energy in their performance.
In This Moment? Very theatrical which I could definitely dig coming from that background myself. Like Gaga with a harder feel. She was preoccupied with her Son who was with her so I didn't get to meet her but it wasn't because she was being standoffish and you take care of your babies first.
Enter The Fate? they were ok... I took the guys to the gym earlier in the day and had a nice conversation about our area so that was really nice.
Hell or Highwater? Really cool guys and really awesome band. One of the members had the coolest ear plugs and I had to look at them closer while he was back stage.
All in all... the entire day was amongst some pretty super people.. not only super musicians.. but hell.. they put up with me all day with my nerdiness. I tip my hat to you all... I will never forget it.
It was ALL... Much appreciated. I hope I wasn't too much of a pain :-)

Opera Breve and Comanche Texas
Well, Opera Breve is over :-(
It was an incredible 2 weeks full of lots of learning and new discoveries about myself. It is an experience I will never forget and I'm glad I got to do it. We had 3 concerts. The Thursday concert was musical theatre selections. Saturday afternoon was Opera Scenes and Sunday afternoon was Aria's and a portion of Suor Angelica.
Onto to the next gig... This weekend I'll be singing at the City wide Gala in Comanche Texas. My friend Randi and I will be there all day Saturday and come back Sunday so if you're in the area say HI!
I'll be playing Mrs. Peacock in Clue: The Musical opening October 7th at Backdoor Theatre. I'm looking forward to the show and it is pretty funny. Again, if you're a local make sure you plan to catch it.
As for the future, nothing is set in stone and new gigs have been poping up all the time so stay tuned! Music is such a wonderful release for me. How awesome that I get to do this!
Love hugs and all that junk :-)

Opera Breve
We'll life has gotten rather busy for me lately so I'll update everyone on my current projects.
Opera Breve:
There is a new program starting this Sunday night at Midwestern State University called Opera Breve Vocal Intensive. In order to be considered for this program I had to submit an audition to NYC. I was informed that I was accepted in May.
I got my Music scenes and Opera a month ago to memorize. I've been working on them very hard! I'm doing scenes from Shrek the musical, Carmen, Bartered Bride, Idomeneo, etc. In addition I had to come up with more arias for a Mock Opera Audition that will take place on Monday, and 2 Musical Theatre pieces for that Mock Audition process that will be going on Tuesday.
August 7th we're doing a big recital with all these scenes and the opera (Suor Angelica). I'm very excited to be able to work with some really talented folks for 2 weeks.
End of August I'm traveling with a friend for a weekend performing in another City for their big celebration. There will be shopping and all kinds of interesting things, and then we're singing at a local church that Sunday morning before heading back home!
So, as of now.... things are getting busier for me.. Between singing, doing voice overs and scheduling new performances I'm so VERY happy that things are starting to change for me.
Love to everyone! Talk soon!
